Must dos this weekend in Vegas: May 28 – 31, 2015

So you came to Vegas for Memorial Day Weekend and you’ve been nursing your hangover poolside ever since. You had plans to fly home yesterday but as you cracked open another cold one, you quickly realized the flight you were supposed to catch was going to disappear into the less-fun, not-Vegas horizon whether you were on it or not. At this point, you had two choices: 1) Be logical-ish and order another drink because you’re a grown-ass man and obviously, YOLO or, 2) actually try to move your legs that you haven’t properly used since last Saturday and chase your plane down the runway. OK, you broke a sweat just thinking about option two so here you are… still in Vegas and coolly captioning your envy-inducing Instagram pics with nothing more than the say-it-all hashtag, “#rally.”

We get it. We were once you… and we decided to miss our outbound flights indefinitely because let’s be honest, if you’re not in Vegas… actually we don’t have a non-offensive answer to that so since you’re here anyway, get your party on with events like these… every weekend.

Gumball 3000

When: May 29 – 30, 3 p.m. – midnight
Where: MGM Resorts Village
This is Vegas and we know sexy when we see it and we are not shy to tell you that we are all but drooling over what’s rolling into Sin City this weekend. With a week-long, 3,000-mile road race under their belts – er, hoods? – a slew of celebrity drivers will be crossing the Gumball 3000 finish line staked out at MGM Resorts Village on May 29. OK, now we’ll put on the librarian glasses and play teacher for a second; for a little background information on the event, the Gumball 3000 is an annual British international motor rally. Racers drive their supped-up cars on public roads while (mostly) obeying speed limits all for fun and games. What makes this rally so much fun? Well, for spectators, that would be the post-rally party or, as we like to call it, the rally finale. This year in Vegas you can expect two days packed with celebrity DJs like deadmau5 and Diplo, awesome demos from celebs like Tony Hawk and, of course, all the gawking one could possibly want of the souped-up supercars hot off the road.

Mandalay Bay Beach Concert Series

Mandalay Bay Beach Concert Series

When: May 30 at 9 p.m. (BBQ 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.)
Where: Mandalay Bay Beach
How do we know that we are approaching our favorite time of the year? Well, because Mandalay Bay has launched their Mandalay Bay Beach Concert Series and life is good. With a star-studded lineup that will be rocking the beach through September, we couldn’t pick just one to attend… so we will most likely just be headed to all 12 concerts this summer. This Saturday, be a beach bum with us and get your feel-good flowing when Irish pop rock band The Script takes the sandy stage for the second beach concert of the summer. Oh, but before you rock out with your shoes off, be sure to fill up your belly before you booze at the pre-concert BBQ party hosted by Border Grill. Any time your start your night off with BBQ specials, $5 beers and $7 margaritas, you should already know you’re in for a good time.

iHeartRadio Summer Pool Party

When: May 30 at 8:00 p.m.
Where: Caesars Palace
Clearly we make the most of our warm Vegas summer nights since we have yet another outdoor concert series kicking off this weekend. May 30th at Caesars Palace will be epic considering that the iHeartRadio Summer Pool Party will be in full swing. Featuring live performances by top artists Nick Jonas, Chris Brown, Kelly Clarkson, Nicki Minaj, Shaggy and Echosmith, concertgoers will be in for the ultimate weekend party. Kind of like how pizza is always way better with ice cold beer, music is just way better when your rocking out to it live poolside.

Michael Grimm

Michael Grimm

Michael Grimm Friday

When: May 29, 8:30 p.m.
Where: Vinyl inside Hard Rock Hotel and Casino
Oh so you like music? Want some more? We thought so. Michael Grimm, season five winner of the hit reality TV show “America’s Got Talent,” will be kicking off his first ever residency at Vinyl inside Hard Rock Hotel and Casino this Friday. Since winning the show, Grimm has sold more than 200,000 albums and has released four studio albums. He will be taking the Vegas stage in full-swing with more than 40 shows to play. If you’re feeling soulful, this blues-soul singer songwriter is definitely one to watch this weekend. Oh, and if you go see Grimm this weekend, you’ll basically be doubling as a true Vegas Insider since the singer will be debuting songs off of his new album before it hits store on Monday, June 15. Yeah, take a walk on the insider side and hear new music before the world gets to – it’s fun.

Véronic DiCaire

Véronic DiCaire

Véronic Voices

When: May 28 – 29, 9:30 p.m.
Where: Bally’s Hotel and Casino

No, your mushrooms at dinner were not of the special variety and you’re not drunk. OK, well maybe you are drunk, but Véronic DiCaire really does have chameleon-like vocals that can impersonate a variety of notable voices nearly to perfection and it’s amazing. Back in Las Vegas with her headlining show, “Véronic Voices,” this singer, comedian and tribute is in the entertainment arena once again at Bally’s Hotel and Casino. Co-produced by Celine Dion, her one-of-a-kind impersonation show pays tribute to some of the most famous pop icons of our time as Véronic recreates the voices of a variety of superstars including Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Celine Dion, Cher and Madonna among many others. The buzz has been around for awhile – we are still talking about the show, but we’re glad you have a booze-induced buzz going for you as well – and now that Véronic is back, you will want to make sure you check her out for some up-beat entertainment.
