Museum of the Weird is America’s strangest attraction!

Fortune tellers. Two headed cows. And sword swallowers! If you’re looking for weird, you’ve come to the right place. Not only is Austin, Texas’ aptly named Museum of the Weird, “America’s Strangest Attraction”, they’ve also got rotating live performers so weeeeird you’ll feel like you stepped into an old circus sideshow!

The best way to experience the Museum of the Weird is in four parts. First up, when you enter the museum you’ll find yourself in a gift shop filled with all kinds of wonderfully weird trinkets and retro collectables you'll want to spend too much money on.

Next up is the freakshow exhibits, full of oddities, curios, and lots of sideshow fun. You can easily spend an hour in this room exploring all the wonderfully werid artifacts.

Hopefully you’ve got a strong stomach because you’re also going to get to take part in a live performance that involves some sword swallowing, stunts, and even a guy who claims to be immune to electricity. Don’t worry, you won’t have to swallow anything sharp, you’ll just have to watch said guy light a lightbulb using nothing but his mouth.

And last but definitely not least is a chance to eyeball the infamous Minnesota Iceman, one of the most notorious hoaxes discoveries in recent years.

“The Minnesota Iceman is a sideshow exhibit that depicts a man-like creature frozen in a block of ice. It was displayed at shopping malls, state fairs, and carnivals in the United States and Canada in the 1960s and early 1970s and promoted as the “missing link” between man and Neanderthals. It was sold on eBay in 2013.”

Lucky for us, the owners of the Museum of the Weird purchased the Ice Man and took him all the way back to Austin, where he’s become the big finale of the tour, leaving guests scratching their heads wondering… could he be real?

If you’re going to be in Austin, Texas, there’s no way you can pass up a tour through “America’s Strangest Attraction”. It’s a wonderfully weird way to spend an afternoon, so long as you’re a fan of pickled fingers, taxidermy, and guys who hang hooks from their eyeballs. And who isn't, am I right?!
