World's Shortest St. Patrick's Day Parade is the length of 49 leprechauns

A quick and cursory Google search has helped me determine that a Leprechaun is approximately 24 inches in height. So, if my high school math is correct, that makes it 2 feet tall. This is relevant, I promise. This means that the annual St. Patrick's Day parade in Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas is literally the length of 49 leprechans (Full Disclosure: I didn't do the math on that one, I used a calculator).

That's right, folks, on March 17th, the First Ever 12th Annual World's Shortest St. Patrick's Day Parade will commence in Hot Springs, Arkansas, presided over by Mark Martin, former NASCAR superstar:

He will join a long list of celebrities who have led the 30,000 annual revelers along the 98 jumping feet of world-famous Bridge Street, named by Ripley’s Believe It Or Not as the world’s shortest street in everyday use. Previous Grand Marshals have included 2014’s Jim Belushi and earlier Marshals such as Bo Derek and John Corbett (both of whom led the parade twice), Tim Matheson, George Wendt, Mario Lopez, Mike Rowe and others. - ShortestPats.com

The parade will also feature such events as "The World's Largest Leprechaun", a gaggle of marching Irish Elvis impersonators, Irish belly dancers, floats, loud music and dancing in dancing in the streets. You can also compete in the Romancing the Stone contest, which will offer a cash prize for whoever "can lay the best smooch on the Arkansas Blarney Stone."
